As a Capital Projects Lead Cost Analyst, you will apply technical expertise to monitor, analyze, and report cost performance for capital infrastructure projects. You will interface with project management, client management, and site personnel to develop budgets and cost metrics across engineering, procurement, and construction scopes, using both industry‑standard and proprietary tools.
Key responsibilities include implementing project controls methodology, supporting month‑end closing and phase‑gate processes, establishing original and approved budgets, creating cost baselines, developing forecasts, and analyzing variances between actual and forecasted costs. You will also assemble supporting documentation, generate reports for decision‑making, and regularly interface with project managers to track cost performance, with occasional travel to client offices for coordination meetings.

- Support month‑end closing and phase‑gate processes, including coordination, production, management, reporting, and cost analysis.
- Establish original and approved project budgets.
- Work with stakeholders to set cost baselines.
- Develop project forecasts using estimates, schedules, purchase orders, and stakeholder inputs; review and adjust forecasts with project managers.
- Monitor and analyze actual project costs, calculate variances, and document explanations.
- Assemble supporting documentation for project team and client requests.
- Analyze data and build reports to support monitoring and decision‑making.
- Interface regularly with project management to track cost performance.
- Travel to client offices for project coordination meetings as needed.

Candidates must have at least ten years of project experience, a post‑secondary degree, and familiarity with practical project controls. Strong written and verbal communication, motivation to learn, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. Technical requirements include advanced MS Excel or PowerBI, working knowledge of SAP, and proficiency in MS Office.

- Completed equivalent training or passed designated proficiency testing.
