Maintain organization of inspection work-in-process and clearly segregate scrap material. Maintain proper organization of work-in-process (WIP) and scrap materials in designated storage areas.
Prioritize work using job tracking tools and communicating inspection status with internal stakeholders.
Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software; follow established programs and setups based on part numbers.
Work is performed in a clean, temperature-controlled metrology lab and on the production floor.
Compile inspection results in Excel and other digital formats; ensure accuracy and clarity in reports.
Operate 2D and 3D vision systems to collect and evaluate measurement data.
Interpret ASME and ISO-compliant engineering drawings; apply fundamental GD&T concepts in routine inspections.
Safely disassemble/reassemble parts for inspection purposes and handle materials using overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and lifting devices.
Use dimensional analysis software such as PolyWorks (or equivalent) for point-cloud evaluation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to share inspection findings and support continuous improvement.
Inspect cast, machined, molded, stamped, and forged parts made from metal, plastic, rubber, and polymer materials.
Use precision mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height stands, surface plates) to verify dimensional conformance.
Collaborate effectively with team members to complete shared inspection projects and meet deadlines.
Utilize 2D CAD (.dxf) files and solid models in inspection systems where applicable.
Assist with basic CMM program edits and adjustments as needed.
Support calibration and maintenance of measurement tools and equipment; maintain documentation records.
