Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Safely conduct testing, analysis and reporting of asphalt roofing shingle products and raw materials.
Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for analysis according to standard procedures.
Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant standards.
Support senior technicians and scientists in ongoing projects.
Coordinate work to maintain efficiency and ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks.
Follow all laboratory health and safety protocols and best practices and guidelines.
Coordinate with other technicians to complete tasks according to the planned schedule.
Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of chemicals and samples in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to procedures.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Document repairs, maintenance, calibration, and verification of laboratory instruments.

Ability to occasionally lift materials up to 25 lbs.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
RRSP Match
Experience in a laboratory environment is considered an asset.
Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical abilities in routine tasks.
Detail oriented and maintains organizational skills to support team tasks.
Certified Technician (C.Tech) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is considered an asset (or eligibility).
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting (internships or co-op placements considered).
Familiar with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and processes including the safe operation of testing equipment and adherence to lab procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact effectively and efficiently with the team.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or related field.
