Support the management of the overall health and safety program by ensuring the safe and secure operation of the facility, delivering on environmental H&S compliance requirements and provide resources and guidance so that all processes, inspections and employee training are aligned with CF policies and applicable legislation;
Manage the activities of all team members to ensure the timely achievement of department goals, within prescribed policies, procedures and standard business practices;
Handle service Contract negotiations.
Respond to after hour’s emergency calls by going to the site and taking all actions required to ensure all emergency procedures are followed and the security of personnel and the property is maintained;
Facilitate and coordinate ongoing, open communications with tenants to understand and address their operational concerns in order to ensure their needs are being met and the organizations assets are maintained appropriately;
Make sure that all programs related to the overall operation of the Centre are implemented in a timely efficient and cost effective manner by reviewing areas such as, but not limited to: preventative maintenance, environmental management, roof maintenance and rehabilitation, Health & Safety, and Marketing;
Ensure that all preventative maintenance requirements for all mechanical/electrical system and equipment is evaluated/documented and performed;
Ensure property operations are well organized and competently staffed by administering VisionFM schedules for staff and contractors to meet customers needs effectively and efficiently;
Provide regular motivation and mentoring to all staff to encourage ongoing professional development for succession planning purposes;
Monitor operational expenses on a monthly basis by reviewing actual performance against budgeted and conduct a monthly variance analysis to resolve for variances;
Develop annual operating budget for all categories of expense and recovery by conducting thorough studies of all previous years’ budget, repairs and upgrades to help CF to stay leaders within the market;

Excellent analytical and decision making skills
Minimum 10 years experience in Physical Operations management with at least 7 years supervisory/management experience preferably in a mixed use environment
A great leader with a positive demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
Recent experience managing in a unionized environment including solid understanding of collective bargaining
B.Eng or equivalent
General Functional Knowledge of Environmental Hazards and Green (LEEDS) Initiatives
Organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize for completion
Able to work efficiently under pressure with proven skills in implementing and measuring department performance indicators
Dedicated professional willing to respond to emergencies
Thorough knowledge of: general maintenance procedures, budgeting principles, electrical and practical theory, new technologies, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems, management principles, budgeting principles
CFM (Certified Facilities Manager) certification is an asset
Excellent mechanical/electrical abilities
Enrolment in FMA or RPA or Shopping Centre Managers Course or equivalent
