The Site Survey Technician supports solar installation projects by conducting accurate site and HVAC assessments during the pre‑installation phase. This role gathers essential information for system design and installation, and identifies potential issues to ensure seamless project execution.
Technicians perform scheduled site survey appointments, collecting site, structural, electrical, and HVAC data and preparing deliverable packages for downstream teams. They conduct HVAC surveys, evaluate existing systems, equipment placement, ducting, and electrical requirements, and assess roof condition, shading, and other factors affecting solar performance. Drone operations are performed safely in residential areas where FAA‑approved, and precise measurements are documented. They also interact with homeowners and business owners to explain the installation process and answer questions while following OSHA and company policies.
Ideal candidates have prior solar experience and strong HVAC knowledge, particularly in conducting HVAC surveys. They must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and be able to transport equipment up to 50 lb. Excellent verbal and written communication, courteous customer interaction, and strong organizational and time‑management skills are required. The role also demands the ability to work safely on ladders and roofs using personal protective equipment.
The position offers a salary starting at $24 per hour.
