As a Foreperson for Utility Pole Restoration (GOS), you will lead a crew of 1‑5 field workers delivering reinforcement and restoration solutions such as steel reinforcement and composite restoration. The position includes paid on‑the‑job training, hotel accommodations, per‑diem, transportation to remote sites, and required personal protective equipment. Applicants must wear appropriate work wear and safety‑rated boots.
Key duties include hiring, training, managing, and supervising a crew, operating restoration equipment, performing pole reclassification upgrades, and using pole‑loading software to assess load conditions. You will maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, meet safety, quality, and production targets, and generate daily and weekly field reports.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old, computer and smartphone literate, able to read maps, and mechanically inclined. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; a clean driver’s license with no major moving violations in the past three years is required. Travel may be local, statewide, or regional with overnight stays, and the role demands physical activity ranging from frequent standing and walking to occasional lifting up to 50 lb and climbing ladders.
New hires who have at least one year of pole‑restoration experience receive a $500 sign‑on bonus payable within the first 30 days. Hourly rates start at $23‑$24 during training, rise to $24‑$30 after training, and can reach $27‑$30 for candidates with a minimum of 18 months pole‑inspection experience. The role is full‑time, non‑exempt, with a 40‑hour workweek and Saturday make‑up days for inclement weather.
