Tasks

-Lead early-stage cybersecurity technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction. -Build a robust portfolio of Research programs to drive the cybersecurity strategy for GE Vernova with several New Technology Introduction (NTI), New Product Introduction (NPI) and Internal R&D programs across GE Vernova. Drive technology and product roadmaps to ensure our businesses have a multi-year strategic plan that is competitive. -Coordinate disruptive cybersecurity technology efforts in close collaboration with our GEVAR businesses and ensure that such efforts are incorporated into long-term multi-generational technology and product road maps and plans. -Represent and promote GE Vernova’s research in the community. -develops systems and protocols to meet cybersecurity standards -Establish, maintain, and grow strategic relationships with the GE Vernova and external community in areas of need for the organization. -Work closely with the Technology Director and Mission Director/Leaders, collaboratively across GE Vernova business and technology teams, and with key external partners to develop/refine the vision and strategy for the Cybersecurity Research team. -Responsibilities include driving technical and organizational strategy, ensuring operational excellence (safety & compliance, finance, resource planning) and enabling project execution. -Lead a world-class team of technologists with a focus on cybersecurity. The team – -develops software and methods to prevent intrusion into our secure controls platforms -Resource planning for the team to meet both organizational needs and Researcher development goals. -Create open environment and cross sharing of technology. Collaborate across disciplines and actively contribute to people leader community at the site in United States as well as another GEVAR global site in India. -Work closely with Chiefs, Senior Principals & Principals to develop technical strategy for the Cybersecurity organization. -Recruit and retain top talent. Provide mentoring, coaching, career growth opportunities and focused operational development (project/program management, Lean principles, etc.) for team members.

What You Bring

-Must be 18 years or older. -Doctorate in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or similar field . -Technical expertise in fields such as software development for embedded systems (such as computer architecture, Linux OS, network protocols), cybersecurity standards and protocols and development of cybersecure industrial equipment. -Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY. -Demonstrated track record in the transition of research and development technology into an industrial product environment. -Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. -Strong analytical skills -Experience working with and interacting with global teams and cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment. -Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and industry trends; simplify strategy into specific actions, make decisions and communicate priorities -Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and grow people in an organization -Demonstrated capability to thrive in a matrixed team environment -Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate change -Demonstrated impact, leadership capability and ability to lead, build and energize cross-functional teams in a high impact technology -Proven ability to continuously improve the culture of the organization -Proven track record of writing winning proposals with U.S. government agencies such as DOE, ARPA-e, DOD, DARPA, etc. -Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team -PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or similar field and a minimum of 5 years of experience or Master’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or similar field and a minimum 7 years of experience executing on and leading technical work in cybersecurity for industrial equipment or similar field -10 years of executing on and leading technical work in cybersecurity and embedded software -Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance -Proven track record of promoting safety practices
