Leading provider of housing, care, and support services across the UK.
The role involves helping S overcome barriers, recognising her strengths, and supporting her to take small steps toward her dreams using the Positive Behavioural Support model. You will monitor her mental and physical health, manage positive risk, and collaborate with team leaders and the clinical team to encourage participation in favourite activities and new experiences.
S has a moderate learning disability and autism, is intelligent, independent, chatty, and loves gaming, TV, the outdoors, animals and her plushies. She also enjoys time with her family, but experiences sensory processing difficulties and may react strongly to touch or strong‑smelling toiletries, becoming challenging when stressed.
The ideal candidate has experience in complex care, a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it), and a passion for promoting independence through a person‑centred approach. You should be patient, calm, adaptable, experienced in positive risk management, and ideally know Makaton.
Practical details: you will work a mix of early, late and long shifts with occasional sleep‑ins, use technology for support plans and online learning, receive a thorough induction and ongoing support, hold a full driving licence to transport S, and undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
