Sample wastewater, sludge and gasses (odor control, digester, etc.) according to schedule;
Monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units in assigned area;
Performs manual labor including filling and emptying of machine bins and cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds as required;
Makes independent decisions concerning process control changes. Directs the activities of other operators assigned to the shift;
Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to the supervisor and take corrective actions;
Performs field tests (chemical, physical and biological) in order to pace chemical dosages for process control units or alter unit processes. This includes TS, TSS, PH, and other lab tests typical of wastewater and anaerobic digestion;
Practice good housekeeping in the assigned area and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
Monitors and records operating conditions observations and data in a shift log;
Control and operate automatic and semi-automatic machines and related equipment including pumps, engines, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, centrifuges, chemical feed, etc.
Use SCADA for process monitoring and systems control and to operate various equipments;
Ensures conformance to process specifications. Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor and takes corrective actions;

High School education or equivalent with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
Reliable and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations.
Associate's degree in a science or technical area preferred;
Over five years experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment
Must provide own transportation
Exposure to dust and process odors
Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours to accommodate site needs.
Diagnose basic operational problems and take corrective action per procedure;
Attention to details and capability to accurately follow procedures.
Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building.
Ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment
Experience in operation of Anaerobic Digestion highly regarded
Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing (operational, process, safety and quality Instructions). Ability to perform basic math.
Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, attention to detail. Good use of the English language. Deadline oriented. Work well with others. Good hand eye coordination. Repetitive motions required. Rotating through-out the facility as required.
Ability to use computer systems such as Email, SCADA trending and data retrieval.
