The primary purpose of the position is to perform advanced technical and engineering problem‑solving in support of Clean Energy Center (CEC) operations, make technical decisions, and apply strong functional‑discipline knowledge while adhering to industry codes and regulations.
Responsibilities include providing in‑depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analyses and programs; identifying and resolving equipment and system problems; managing engineering issues from start to finish; and ensuring work is accurate, complete, and timely with proper configuration management and compliance to design criteria and codes.
The role also requires independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses for regulatory and technical projects, recommending new concepts to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or meet code changes, and participating in emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs, and outage support as needed.
Minimum qualifications for a Mid‑level engineer are a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) and two years of nuclear or related engineering experience; for a Senior engineer, a Bachelor’s degree and five years of nuclear or related experience. Candidates must meet access requirements, pass a favorable medical examination, and satisfy ANSI/ANSI‑3.1‑1014 standards. Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineer registration and Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) status.

The engineering role can be filled at the Mid‑level (E02) or Senior (E03) level. Expected annual salary ranges are $90,000‑$110,000 for Mid‑level and $118,800‑$150,000 for Senior engineers, plus the comprehensive benefits package.
