The Role

Overview

Deliver Aboriginal water culture lessons to WA schools as part of Return to Work program.

Tasks

-Share cultural knowledge and protocols to support respectful Aboriginal engagement with internal and external stakeholders. -Share knowledge and culture through school programs focused on water and Aboriginal Heritage -Collaborate with your Team Lead to design and deliver content aligned with the WA Curriculum. -Coordinate school bookings by managing a shared inbox, liaising with schools, and handling admin tasks and data entry. -Deliver engaging Water in Aboriginal Culture incursions to students from Pre-Primary to Year 12 in WA metro schools (20 - 60 students per session). -Develop culturally appropriate incursions and resources that reinforce Waterwise Schools’ objectives. -Participate in community education through school incursions and events like the Perth Royal Show and Kings Park Festival.

What You Bring

-Be available for occasional early starts to support school incursions -Ability to engage with community stakeholders to coordinate and evaluate cultural education initiatives. -Current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence -Working with Children Clearance (or willingness to obtain) -Strong knowledge of Aboriginal communities and cultures. -Experience developing and delivering Aboriginal educational programs to a range of audiences. -Experience teaching school-aged students and/or adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. -This position relates to Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, where Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this position

This includes an 12% standard employer contribution, plus an additional 2% employer co-contribution that matches your own 2% contribution.
