The designer will be responsible for protection and control design of high‑voltage substations up to 765 kV, generating detailed engineering deliverables and ensuring project safety, cost, quality, and reliability.
GFT is seeking an experienced Substation P & C Designer to join its expanding Power Group. The role can be performed remotely or in a hybrid arrangement at the Charlotte, NC or Roanoke, VA offices.
Candidates must have at least five years of substation or electrical T&D design experience, be proficient with AutoCAD and MicroStation, and possess knowledge of NESC, NEC, and IEEE codes as well as MV, HV, and EHV voltage classes. Strong reporting, Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to manage schedules and budgets are also required, with consulting experience considered a plus.
