Monitor and test lifting and powered equipment, including electric hoists, winches and powered access tools, ensuring full operational safety.
Carry out electrical inspections, including functionality checks, insulation tests, continuity checks and compliance verification in line with regulations.
Prepare hire-ready equipment, ensuring each item is tested, clean, fully functional and compliant before leaving the depot.
Assemble, configure and test electrical systems, such as temporary power distribution units, festoon lighting, transformers, cabling systems and site lighting products.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on 110V, 230V and 415V equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely and to high quality standards.
Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, service teams and hire desk colleagues to prioritise repairs and meet customer deadlines.
Ensure all electrical repairs meet required standards, such as BS 7671, PUWER, LOLER (where applicable) and Speedy safety policies.
Complete electrical safety documentation, including test certificates, repair logs and system updates.
Support workshop teams by identifying recurring electrical issues and suggesting improvements, replacements or preventative measures.
Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on electrical hire equipment, including PAT testing, condition checks and component replacement.
Promote safe working practices, ensuring workshop electrical standards, isolation procedures and risk assessments are followed.
