The role requires solid knowledge of road design terminology and the ability to create layouts, set‑outs, cross‑sections, signage, markings, traffic signals, pavement, and road furniture. The designer will extract profiles, sections, grading and other geometry directly from Civil3D data shortcuts, manage those shortcuts in ProjectWise and BIM360, and develop templates that follow project and client style guides and naming conventions. Implementation of AECOM Quality Assurance procedures, quality control, progress tracking and product delivery under the CAD Supervisor’s guidance are also key responsibilities.
Candidates must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and have at least three years of CAD experience on roads, highways or major infrastructure projects. Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation is required, while experience with Civil 3D, 3‑D road asset modelling and BIM for highways is advantageous. Global design exposure, strong spoken and written communication, and familiarity with CDE tools such as ProjectWise, BIM360 and Bluebeam are essential, as is an understanding of quality processes.
AECOM offers a hybrid “Freedom to Grow” working model and a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, retirement savings, stock purchase plans and various voluntary perks.
