Senior Construction Inspector | Hudson Tunnel Project | New York

Description

• Deliver delegated elements of the annual business plan on time and within budget.
• Manage and facilitate external certification audits.
• Provide expertise to achieve new certifications where needed.
• Organise and conduct internal audits as part of the audit programme.
• Lead audits and produce comprehensive audit reports.
• Investigate root causes of non‑conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Review and improve management system content for relevance and implementation.
• Identify and propose new systems or processes to enhance efficiency and innovation.
• Ensure quality report data is accurate, available, and delivered on schedule.
• Create communication articles, plans and collateral.
• Coordinate management‑review activities, analyse data and key metrics, and present recommendations.
• Advise on risk mitigation and improve management system effectiveness.
• Supply specialised expertise to support business development initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training programs.
• Manage supply‑chain performance, providing supplier training, guidance and QMS audits.
• Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition, identifying and managing associated emissions and reductions.
• Serve as a civil engineering inspector on large New York City infrastructure programs.
• Lead procurement for multibillion‑dollar capital construction projects, programs or portfolios.

Requirements

• Possess familiarity with NY transit agencies such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR and Amtrak.
• Hold a relevant engineering, construction management degree or comparable industry experience.
• Hold OSHA 30 certification.
• Have experience in heavy civil projects, including tunnelling.
• Possess experience on FTA‑funded projects (highly preferred).
• Understand various contracting and delivery models (PPP, PMC, DBB, DB, FIDIC, NEC) – advantageous.
• Demonstrate experience delivering programs or portfolios valued over $1 billion – significant advantage.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in construction‑industry procurement or supply‑chain management.
• Experience working with agencies such as PANYNJ, NJT, MNRR, LIRR, NYCT and MTA.

Benefits

The role offers a starting salary of $140,000 to $155,000, with compensation adjusted for permissible, non‑discriminatory factors such as experience and qualifications.
