The part‑time Closer role at Homestead Title Agency, the title company of Fischer Homes, is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this position you will manage residential real‑estate closing ceremonies and guide customers through the final step of their home‑buying journey. The focus is on delivering a smooth and enjoyable experience for each client.
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage customer closings via mail, email, and phone.
- Create and maintain accurate customer files using title‑company software.
- Conduct closing ceremonies and post‑closing processes for all lender types.
- Respond proactively to customer inquiries, ensuring confidence and informed decisions.
- Review lender closing instructions and verify receipt of proper funds and execution of documents.
- Collaborate with Title and Processing teams on examinations, reports, commitments, recordings, and loan documents.
- Ensure compliance with laws, underwriting standards, industry guidelines, and company policies.
- Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and adopt new technologies.

Ideal candidates thrive on a flexible, part‑time schedule that adapts to weekly closing demand, enjoy a process‑oriented workload, and can independently schedule and lead closing ceremonies. Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and clear communication with internal and external partners are essential. Comfort with technology and the ability to multitask in a fast‑moving environment are also required.
The work environment requires strong sensory and communication skills for telephone and face‑to‑face interactions, as well as proficiency with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners. Employees must be able to sit for extended periods and lift 20–25 lb unassisted.
- Required: Obtain Notary Public certification after hire; may need to obtain a title insurance license.
- Preferred: Experience with residential real‑estate closings, knowledge of title insurance, familiarity with lending requirements, and proficiency with Qualia or similar software.
