Key duties include tracking and maintaining requirement status and traceability, cleaning up and refining existing requirements, and updating technical risk registers with likelihood, severity, mitigation plans, and status. The intern will generate subsystem‑level verification and validation test plans, support or witness subsystem and system‑level tests, analyze test data, and document results and follow‑on actions. Additionally, the role involves preparing technical documentation and presentations for internal design reviews and program milestones.
The intern will gain hands‑on experience applying the systems‑engineering V‑process to a real‑world PEM fuel cell product, learning how system and subsystem requirements are tracked, refined, and managed. The position also teaches how technical risk is assessed, communicated, and mitigated throughout development, while building verification planning, test execution, data analysis, and professional communication skills.
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Required skills include strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, comfort with technical documentation and data analysis, and excellent written and verbal communication. Self‑motivation, ownership, and reliable transportation to the office are also essential.
