PGIM Private Capital, Direct Lending Principal (Southeast Region)

Description

In this role you will guide a team of investment professionals, source new direct‑lending financings ranging from $25 million to $200 million, and cultivate relationships with private‑equity sponsors and intermediaries. You will partner with legal counsel to negotiate loan covenants, oversee portfolio management, and collaborate with senior leadership to achieve the objectives of the Alternatives/Direct Lending organization.

• Lead and develop a regional team of investment professionals.
• Originate direct‑lending deals sized $25‑$200 million across the Southeast.
• Build and maintain relationships with private‑equity sponsors and deal intermediaries.
• Negotiate loan covenants and documentation in coordination with legal counsel.
• Manage the direct‑lending portfolio and align with overall Alternatives strategy.
• Travel regularly to meet clients and oversee investments.
• Participate in education benefit programs and an employee stock purchase plan at a 15% discount.

Requirements

Candidates should have more than ten years of experience in corporate‑finance lending, a proven record of senior‑debt investments, and strong analytical and communication skills. Existing relationships with private‑equity sponsors in the Southeast are preferred, as are MBA or CFA credentials. The position requires frequent travel and the ability to convey complex issues clearly to senior decision‑makers.

• Leverage 10+ years of corporate finance lending experience and senior‑debt investment track record.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, presentation, and client‑relationship skills.
• Possess existing private‑equity sponsor contacts in the Southeast (preferred).
• Hold an MBA and/or CFA designation (preferred).
