The trainee rotates through multiple departments—including safety, quality, operations, finance, sales, supply chain, human resources, IT and engineering—to acquire hands‑on experience. Daily duties involve observing and improving safety practices, contributing to quality and continuous‑improvement systems, supporting operational procedures, and participating in maintenance and employee‑relations activities.
Carmeuse is looking for an entry‑level Production Manager Trainee who will be mentored by senior management over an 18‑24 month period. The role provides a broad introduction to the minerals processing industry, with the expectation that the trainee will relocate as needed and prepare for future leadership opportunities.
The position requires adaptability to work with diverse teams, a thorough understanding of company policies, and active involvement in CIMS, safety, continuous‑improvement, and budgeting meetings. The trainee works closely with senior management to set and track goals, becoming a contributing member of the management team.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related discipline, with relevant internships or experience considered. Prior exposure to manufacturing environments such as mining, steel, cement or related sectors is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate a proactive attitude, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
