The role seeks EC&I Engineers of all seniorities to be based in several UK offices and supported by hybrid working. The team will own the full lifecycle of control‑system projects, translating stakeholder needs into robust, compliant architectures and delivering them from concept through to commissioning.
- Define control and EC&I system requirements through stakeholder engagement
- Develop front‑end and concept‑level control system architectures
- Produce control philosophies, functional requirements and system descriptions
- Structure end‑to‑end control systems across PLCs, HMIs, networks and instrumentation
- Apply vendor‑agnostic PLC and DCS design principles
- Support verification, validation, FAT, SAT and design assurance activities
- Collaborate with mechanical, process, safety and human‑factors engineers
- Apply nuclear‑grade configuration control and lifecycle governance

Ideal candidates have a systems‑engineering mindset and experience in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, pharma, aerospace or oil & gas. They should be comfortable with requirements capture, front‑end engineering, vendor‑agnostic PLC design, DCS/HMI/network knowledge, functional safety standards, lifecycle project delivery and OT‑cybersecurity, with commissioning exposure viewed as a plus.
- Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, pharma, aerospace, oil & gas)
- Systems engineering mindset with strong requirements capture ability
- Front‑end engineering or concept‑design project exposure
- Broad PLC experience with a vendor‑agnostic approach
- Understanding of DCS, HMI, networks and instrumentation layers
- Functional safety experience applying relevant sector standards
- Lifecycle project experience from concept through implementation
- Awareness of OT cybersecurity in control‑system environments
- Beneficial commissioning exposure (not essential)
