The Field Performance Technician is responsible for managing, scheduling, and completing all service and warranty work. This role works both independently and as part of the Performance O&M team, collaborating closely with customers, branch managers, the senior electrical foreman, construction supervisors, and the centralized scheduling team.
Key duties include organizing the warranty and service schedule, allocating labor resources, leading regular training meetings, supporting onboarding of new team members, and consistently exceeding performance metrics such as turnaround time and dispatch counts. The technician also assists with inspections, site audits, and other ad‑hoc tasks as needed.
Candidates must have 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience, a high school diploma, and a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license. An electrical journeyman certification or license is preferred and may be required depending on state regulations.
The role requires solid knowledge of the NEC and related codes, the ability to read single‑line drawings and PV system layouts, and strong customer‑service, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with computer tools, a safety‑first mindset, and the ability to make logical decisions and troubleshoot issues are essential.
Physical demands include regularly lifting up to 50 lb (up to 100 lb with assistance), working on rooftops, ladders, and in various weather conditions, and performing tasks that require bending, climbing, and fine motor skills. The technician must also be able to work safely in confined spaces and at heights while using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Employees enjoy comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, stock purchase options, paid vacations and holidays, baby‑bonding leave, fully funded education programs, employee discounts, donation matching, and volunteer hour rewards.
