Conduct material sampling and testing (asphalt, concrete, soils, aggregates) according to MoDOT/IDOT procedures.
Identify, document, and report discrepancies or deficiencies to the project engineer or manager promptly.
Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and any non-compliance issues.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve field issues efficiently.
Document construction activities daily through detailed reports, photographs, and field notes.
Perform on-site inspection of construction projects including highways, bridges, and roadways to ensure compliance with project specifications, MoDOT/IDOT standards, and safety regulations.
Review construction plans, shop drawings, and materials to verify conformance with approved designs and applicable codes.
Stay current with MoDOT/IDOT construction standards, specifications, and procedures.
Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to communicate inspection findings and recommendations.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and schedule requirements.

Knowledge of materials testing procedures for asphalt, concrete, soils, and aggregates.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
Strong understanding of construction safety standards and field inspection protocols.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to project sites.
