Manufacturer of watertight rubber sealing systems for infrastructure pipe and conduit connections.
The Production Material Handler shall follow all relevant working procedures, provide extrusion/fabrication with necessary materials, and maintain a neat and organized finished goods warehouse. The shift for this position is Thursday to Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm.
Principal accountabilities include obtaining pick lists from the Production Supervisor, loading and unloading trucks, using strip material on a first‑in‑first‑out basis, retrieving extruded material and part crates for workstations, and continuously supplying the offline cutter. The role also involves moving finished skids from the temporary hold area for final inspection, transferring QA‑released material to the warehouse transition area, warehousing all finished products FIFO, maintaining the silicone tote, and keeping disposition, temporary, permanent hold, and strip‑stock areas organized. Documentation, policy adherence, and other specialized functions are required as needed.
The position demands complexity and judgment, as it involves encountering varied and non‑routine problems, analyzing alternative actions when procedures are lacking, and addressing material‑management issues using experience and established policies.
Daily interactions occur with the Distribution Supervisor, other supervisors, lead hands, and operators, with the work performed entirely on the shop floor.
Health and safety responsibilities require adherence to all applicable federal, provincial, and local legislation, compliance with Hamilton Kent’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy, and immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents.
Knowledge and skills requirements include good communication and mathematical abilities, a high‑school level English education, and training in forklift operation and Raymond Reach equipment.
