Regional Facilities Manager

Description

• Execution of preventative maintenance plans.
• Develop, implement, and enhance preventative maintenance programs and conduct regular inspections and audits.
• Lead and train staff to foster a best‑in‑class safety culture, including safety education meetings and PPE compliance monitoring.
• Create, roll out, and maintain site‑specific emergency evacuation plans with local authorities.
• Coach and mentor Maintenance Supervisors, providing technical assistance and leadership development.
• Manage maintenance budgets, including capital projects, repairs, third‑party contracts, and annual turnover.
• Conduct property visits to inspect conditions, quality of operations, and oversee vendor performance.
• Negotiate and monitor outside vendor contracts for services such as cleaning, landscaping, painting, and flooring.
• Ensure cleanliness, grounds keeping, inventory control, and general maintenance comply with company policies.
• Identify building defects, propose solutions, and estimate costs.
• Recommend improvements to reduce maintenance expenses and enhance operations.
• Activate and coordinate emergency response teams during natural disasters.
• Analyze weekly property KPI reports to identify focus assets and improvement opportunities.
• Provide timely performance updates to Regional Manager, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Build relationships that motivate on‑site teams to achieve key performance indicators.

Requirements

We are seeking an accomplished and forward‑thinking Regional Facilities Manager to lead multi‑site facilities operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, preferably located in the East Coast or Midwest. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, you will champion preventative maintenance programs, leverage advanced technologies, and promote sustainable practices to keep each property at peak performance. The role demands strategic thinking, exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and extensive travel of up to 75 % to ensure consistent best‑practice application across all sites.

• Minimum 7 years in maintenance or operations roles in property management.
• Area or regional maintenance manager experience, preferably in student housing.
• Proficiency with Entrata or other core property management software.
• OSHA 10 certification (or obtain within 90 days).
• Deep understanding of safety regulations, emergency preparedness, and environmental stewardship.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and manuals.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 75 % of the time.
• Preference for candidates located on the East Coast or Midwest.
