Description

The Traveling Superintendent reports to the EVP of National Accounts and leads field operations for complex commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical electrical projects across the United States. Compensation ranges from $145,000 to $185,000 annually, depending on experience, and the role requires extensive nationwide travel.

In this senior on‑site position, the superintendent directs day‑to‑day operations, supervises all field labor, and serves as the main liaison between project management, contractors, inspectors, and other trades. They enforce safety culture, ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and local codes, and manage quality and schedule control through detailed documentation and coordination of inspections, deliveries, and equipment staging.

• Lead day‑to‑day on‑site operations for commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical electrical projects.
• Supervise apprentices, journeymen, foremen, and subcontractors, enforcing production plans and workflow sequencing.
• Act as primary on‑site liaison with Project Management, General Contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job‑hazard analyses, and site audits while championing the "Safety First, Safety Always" culture.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and local authority codes; proactively mitigate jobsite risks.
• Interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics; coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and equipment staging.
• Monitor progress against schedule, address field challenges, and maintain daily reports, field logs, and production tracking using approved software.
• Travel extensively nationwide, including overnight and extended assignments, to support startup, ramp‑up, and critical project phases.

Requirements

Candidates must have at least seven years of commercial or industrial electrical experience, including three years in a supervisory or superintendent role, with strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA, blueprint reading, and crew management. Proficiency with field technology platforms such as Procore or PlanGrid and a valid driver’s license for nationwide travel are required.

• Possess 7+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or supervisory role.
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, blueprint reading, and the ability to manage large crews and multiple trades.
• Proficient with field technology and reporting tools such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar platforms.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide.
