Director of Supply Chain

Description

The director maintains strategic vendor relationships, creates new KPIs, collaborates with other departments, and aligns the Supply Chain team’s goals, processes, and measurements with the company’s primary focus areas. Additional project work and responsibilities are assigned as needed.

Key competencies include keeping the supervisor informed of critical safety incidents, contributing cooperatively to team efforts, exercising sound judgment in decision‑making, and continuously developing the skills needed to perform the role satisfactorily.

• Develop and maintain a procurement strategy that minimizes cost and inventory while maximizing in‑stock performance.
• Build and sustain strategic vendor relationships.
• Create and monitor new KPIs to ensure metrics meet business requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to support company initiatives.
• Align Supply Chain team goals, processes, measurements, and standards with primary company focus areas.

Requirements

The position is a full‑time Director of Supply Chain based in Fayetteville, Arkansas (ZIP 72701). It falls under the Supply Chain job category and requires a four‑year degree.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field) required; engineering degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in engineering or procurement, including leading supply chain or engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of MRP operating principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors.
• Proven organizational and project‑management abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Team‑oriented and able to work independently.
