HVAC Service Technician (Level 3)

Description

As a Level‑3 Service Technician, you will leverage problem‑solving and troubleshooting expertise to communicate with clients and deliver solutions for repairing HVAC systems. You are responsible for sourcing all required materials and equipment to complete jobs successfully and exceed client expectations.

• Create scope of work and present proposals to clients
• Read and interpret mechanical plans
• Troubleshoot variable air volume and temperature control systems
• Repair and design air distribution systems, including spiral and rectangular ductwork and zoning
• Handle HVAC equipment larger than 40 tons
• Travel to field sites to monitor multiple projects

Requirements

The role demands excellent communication with co‑workers, clients, and vendors, leadership qualities, the ability to create scopes of work and proposals, and proficiency in reading mechanical plans. Technical expertise includes high‑ and low‑voltage electrical systems, variable frequency drives, building automation, variable air volume/temperature controls, and comprehensive mechanical system troubleshooting across refrigeration, chilled water, pumps, cooling towers, valves, hot water, variable refrigerant flow, air distribution, ductwork, zoning design, and equipment larger than 40 tons.

Applicants must hold a High School Diploma or GED, have at least eight years of HVAC experience, and possess trade‑school training. A clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and EPA Universal certification are also required.

The position requires physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 50 lb. Employees must be available for rotational on‑call duty, occasional weekend overtime, and travel to field sites to monitor multiple projects.
