Global Commodity Manager

Overview

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for casting & machining commodities

Tasks

-Become the subject matter expert for assigned commodities and associated markets. -Categorize suppliers as Strategic, Grow, Maintain, or Rationalize, and implement appropriate strategies. -Manage important metrics such as Supplier Quality, Service, Cost, Safety, and Integrity. -Develop and execute cost reduction strategies aligned with company goals -Provide escalation support for site purchasing managers and improve supplier performance through global leverage. -Create and manage a Sourcing Cost Reduction Program (PPV & VAVE) project funnel. -Lead supplier negotiations and project implementation for assigned commodities for casting and machining. -Develop relationships with our teams (Engineering, Product Management) and external suppliers. -The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel -Develop and maintain a supply chain roadmap, supporting transitions and continuous improvements. -Maintain a Supplier Risk Management Program, focusing on capacity, quality, and delivery.

What You Bring

-As required by Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) -Commodity experience establishing and implementing strategic plans to deliver world class sourcing of manufactured parts, preferably machined castings and Machined Components. -Willingness to travel 50% domestically and internationally as required. -Must have at least two years of experience in a buyer/planner role. -Experience in a Lean/Six Sigma transformation. -The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds -Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or Supply Chain. MBA and/or APICS/ISM certifications preferred. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus -International commodity sourcing experience in China, Vietnam, Mexico and India is preferred. -Mandarin Chinese language skills preferred. -Experience in delivering year-over-year savings in a manufacturing environment. -5+ years of experience in Global Supply Chain Operations (industrial/commercial), with expertise in casting and machining. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear
