The technician must work independently, coordinate with other maintenance personnel across all shifts, complete required paperwork, and maintain safety and cleanliness of the equipment, department, plant, and worksite.
- Diagnose problems, plan and schedule preventive maintenance, and make repairs or improvements to machines/equipment.
- Perform basic electrical repairs and install, remove, fabricate, alter, and rebuild machines/equipment per code requirements.
- Plan, layout, and execute bench and machine operations to construct, modify, and repair tools, fixtures, gauges, and attachments, ensuring proper fit and calibration.
- Operate equipment safely, read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to perform repairs.
- Fabricate parts using lathe, mill, drill press, welder, and brake, without design guidance when needed.
- Use testing equipment, powered hand tools, torches, welders, and precision measuring instruments.
- Assist other maintenance team members and serve as a resource for engineering and management.
- Lead major installation or revision projects for machines/equipment across MEC facilities.
- Create work requests/orders, obtain parts, and retrieve historical work order data via PC.
- Contact suppliers/manufacturers for part information, repair issues, improvements, and shipping instructions.
- Maintain user knowledge of maintenance equipment, test instruments, material handling gear, manlifts, voltage testers, welders, and fabrication tools.
- Perform physically demanding tasks: climb ladders, stoop, crouch, twist, kneel, crawl, lift over 60 lb, and operate vehicles/manlifts up to 60 ft.
- Complete all required paperwork and maintain equipment and computer documentation.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of equipment, department, plant, and worksite.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel across all shifts to ensure job completion.

Preferred qualifications include journeyman or equivalent status, strong electrical background (480 V and control wiring), knowledge of European electrical prints, and a complete understanding of robotic cells and stamping presses. Candidates must possess a full set of trade tools, a valid powered industrial truck operator permit, and a state driver’s license.
- Maintain current knowledge of all maintenance crafts, including basic electronics/electrical repair.
Benefits
Compensation includes pay commensurate with experience, a $1,000 sign‑on bonus, PTO effective on the hire date, and benefits after 30 days. The weekend schedule runs Friday through Sunday, 6 am to 6 pm, with 40 hours paid each week.
