The co‑op will support proposal preparation and project coordination, working with structural designers, multidisciplinary teams, and field investigations, while also updating CAD drawings and staying current with industry standards.
- Prepare structural technical reports, project proposals, and presentations.
- Coordinate with structural designers and engineers to capture design intent in technical documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate transportation planning into proposal documents.
- Conduct field investigations and collect data for ongoing projects and proposal pursuits.
- Modify detailed CAD drawings of transportation structures, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices in structural engineering and planning.

The company is looking for a summer Co‑op student to join the Design and Engineering team within the Mobility business area in Canada. The role is open to university students enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program, emphasizing strong communication, organization, quick problem‑solving, and an interest in the full infrastructure design process from proposal to construction. The position can be based in any Arcadis office in British Columbia.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a civil or related engineering program with coursework in structural or bridge engineering and maintain a strong academic record. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) are assets, as are basic structural analysis knowledge and exposure to design codes and analysis tools. Preference is given to First Nation, Inuit, or Métis applicants who self‑identify.
- Enrolled in a civil or related engineering undergraduate or graduate program with structural/bridge coursework.
- Maintain a strong academic record demonstrating fundamental engineering principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiar with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Basic understanding of structural analysis and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Interest in bridge design, analysis, and construction; exposure to design codes and analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, Midas Civil) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to manage time and prioritize tasks.
