TAU is seeking an experienced Programme Lead to coordinate Auckland Council’s annual programme of performing arts, major events, city activations and experiences. The senior role works collaboratively across council groups, cultural organisations and external partners to ensure a strategic, joined‑up approach to event planning, investment and delivery.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading complex event or programme portfolios, with proven ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate programmes at scale. They are confident engaging senior stakeholders, navigating organisational and political complexity with sound judgment and professionalism, and possess strong communication, facilitation and relationship‑building skills to drive shared outcomes.
A clear commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori outcomes and bicultural practice is required, including willingness to learn basic te reo Māori and apply tikanga appropriately.
A Bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Business or a related field and around ten years of senior programme or event leadership experience are expected; experience in local government or other complex organisations is valued.

Salary is band I, ranging from $140,000 to $160,000 per annum depending on skill set and experience.
