The Superintendent oversees all phases of a construction project and ensures that standard operating procedures are being met, as well as ensuring safety procedures are being followed. This position is responsible for managing project schedules and the overall progress for each project. The Superintendent attends scheduled meetings with the Project Manager, architect, engineer, and owner to provide updates and address any concerns that arise. We would like for this candidate to have Job order Contracting construction experience.

  • Collaborates with other staff to create pre-construction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
  • Contact outside vendors and supplies on material procurement.
  • Keep regular accounts in the form of daily reports and photos in Procore on a daily basis.
  • Monitor construction progress in accordance to specifications and drawings, document all deficiencies, and track until completed.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Inform architects, engineers, owners, and Jamail & Smith project managers up to date on changes, RFI’s problems or plan discrepancies.
  • Encourage and enforce safety program.
  • Provide limited supervision to Superintendents through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks as needed by Sr. Superintendents.
  • Ensure the quality of work is within the guidelines of construction documents, using the 3-phase quality control plan.
  • Update weekly schedules and look aheads.
  • Manage all materials to make sure that they are available on site and are in compliance with the specs and other construction documents.
  • Manage weekly scheduled meetings with subcontractors.
  • Attend update meetings with PM, architect, engineer, and owner.
  • Schedule, order, and log materials for job.
  • Oversee/supervise project from beginning to completion to make sure that specs are followed and completed under Standard Operating Procedures guidelines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a building trade preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification, preferred.
  • Experience in the K-12 construction industry and or medical field, preferred.
  • Experience in Job Order Contracting is a plus!
