

Designs and manufactures specialty purpose‑built vehicles and equipment for defense, fire, access, refuse and aviation.
The Paint Tech I prepares vehicle components for painting by wiping, sanding, inspecting, plugging, masking, and removing moisture and debris. The role also includes operating overhead hoists, conducting gloss and adhesion tests, and supporting the training of other paint‑prep personnel.
Key duties include maintaining a safe and clean work area in line with 5S and safety standards, inspecting finished parts for quality, driving defects back to their source, managing inventory of prep materials, and documenting processes. The technician also assists with corrective‑action facilitation and performs polishing and measurement tasks such as gloss, wave, scan, color, and adhesion testing.
Applicants must have 1–2 years of automotive manufacturing experience, basic computer, math, and reading skills, and the ability to multitask, follow procedures, and communicate effectively. Preferred candidates bring three years of automotive manufacturing experience—ideally in a paint department—proficiency with pneumatic sanders, and a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
