This is an opportunity to influence the next generation of New York’s transit infrastructure. You'll work alongside respected engineers, architects, and planners on projects that matter to millions of daily commuters.
You will play a key role in advancing architectural design excellence within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with agency standards, codes, and best practices for complex public infrastructure.
- Oversee design production from conceptual design through construction documents and construction administration.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Manage subconsultants and internal design teams, ensuring timely, coordinated, and technically sound deliverables.
- Interpret and implement MTA design standards, codes, and client expectations.
- Coordinate across disciplines (structural, MEP, civil) and work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
- Lead architectural design and documentation for transit facilities including passenger stations, support buildings, and yard/maintenance facilities.
- Provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews for architectural work products.

TYLin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Architect to lead the planning and design of transit facilities for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and related New York-area agencies.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with 3D visualization tools a plus.
- Experience with MTA Capital Program and familiarity with design submittal processes.
- Previous work on federally funded projects or Design-Build project delivery.
- LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable infrastructure design.
- Minimum 10 years of architectural experience, with a strong focus on transit or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of applicable NYC codes, ADA, NFPA, and MTA design guidelines.
- Registered Architect (RA) in New York State – required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff in a collaborative environment.
- Proven track record working with MTA agencies (MTA C&D, NYCT, LIRR, or Metro-North) on facilities such as stations, yards, and maintenance buildings.
- Strong technical design, documentation, and construction-phase experience.
