Dining Room Server (Pacific Regent La Jolla) (CA)

Description

The server works in a well‑lit, clean, smoke‑free environment and interacts constantly with residents, guests, and staff. The role may require handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously and being on call during emergencies such as severe weather or post‑disaster situations.

• Ensure residents and guests receive timely, high-quality food and service.
• Wait on tables and assist service associates as needed.
• Maintain and repair dining‑room equipment.
• Keep the dining room clean and sanitized.
• Coordinate storage of supplies.
• Adhere to all service standards and department policies.
• Attend mandatory meetings, trainings, and all‑staff gatherings.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Know and apply safety goals, MSDS information, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Participate annually in the associate satisfaction survey.
• Provide excellent customer service and treat all residents with respect.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years prior experience as a food server in a full‑service restaurant (preferred).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Valid San Diego County Food Service Workers Card within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of dining‑room etiquette, food sanitation, and safety.
• Availability to work all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call‑outs.
• Professional attitude, demeanor, and dress.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent (or comparable experience/education).
• Strong written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
