Tax Accountant

Description

• Provide updates on tax legislative changes
• Research and analyze tax laws, planning strategies and other tax issues
• Accumulate, analyze and process financial accounting data to prepare tax returns, tax return workpapers, estimated tax payments and tax provision workpapers
• Assist with various special projects and other administrative items
• Assist with federal and state income tax audits including the preparation of responses to audit inquiries and notices
• Update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities and reading professional publications
• Prepare other non-income tax filings
• Organize and maintain records of EFTP's
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
• Work with divisions and other departments to distribute and gather documentation for tax return filings
• Perform detail review of general ledger accounts

Requirements

• Master's degree; Big 4 CPA firm experience; CPA Certification or actively pursuing
• Able to travel overnight
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; work well under pressure to meet deadlines; ability to work independently, multi-task and provide attention to detail
• Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; or two plus years of experience and/or related training
