Ensures accurate optimization of techniques/methods to maximize usage of inventory and plant supplies for production operations to include plans for current and future production requirements, from raw materials to finished product.
Assist the Plant Manager in establishing and monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
Travel is primarily local during the business day. May on occasion travel to appropriate seminars and training.
Proactively and regularly develops and manages team member’s performance and capabilities with emphasis on CI’s, cycle time, cost and product quality.
Manages and works with the Managers and Supervisors in the implementation of safety awareness programs, communicates safety issues, corrects safety related problems, and assists in investigations into safety related issues.
Assists Managers and Supervisors in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs, maximizing equipment use.
Assists in the performance reviews of Managers and Supervisors and assists in corrective actions of them on an annual, bi-annual, or on an as needed basis.
Mentors Managers and Supervisors and fosters a learning and growth environment.
Ensures overall coordination of work assignments to product line schedules to meet customer needs, including ensuring smoothly coordinated shift changes and personnel assignments are properly documented and considered to meet schedules. Supports production processes through cross training of personnel.
Assists in maintaining existing plant facilities and equipment; and/or make recommendations and adjustments to plant facilities and equipment to the Maintenance Manager, Plant, Production and Warehouse Managers when necessary.
Establishes and improves procedures and work instructions for production processes, and coordinates with product line managers, quality managers, and CI Managers and teams utilizing SQDCI, OTD, and TPS methodologies.
Ensures that machinery and equipment are maintained and calibrated to prevent unplanned downtime, cost or quality issues.
Provide leadership and training to Managers and Supervisors to accomplish plant production goals and objectives.
Ensures process quality, root cause analysis and implementation of actions for quality issues, and coordinates operational issues with other departments and managers, including Continuous Improvement (CI) Managers and teams.
This position will confer with upper management personnel to retrieve and establish updated production and quality control standards in their assigned areas of operations to effectively manage scheduling and timing of production.
Responsible for establishing and measuring long-term goals for production teams to ensure consistency with JELD-WEN goals and objectives. Implements said goals and objectives and constantly monitors progress of same.

At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in the window and door industry, including two (2) to four (4) years as a Manager.
The ability to motivate/empower others and resolve conflict.
Strong team skills, including the ability to coach and develop work teams and provide appropriate training.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, problem solving and managerial skills.
Knowledge of raw materials and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques preferably in the door and window industry, including, but not limited to Continuous Improvement, SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and other related activities, initiatives, and methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities.
Solid computer skills.
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in a related field and three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Knowledge of door and window production machines and tools.
