The Role

Overview

Conducts complex land surveys and supports construction staking for projects.

Tasks

-Download, maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage survey database. Review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control. -Lead CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed. -Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers. -Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures. -Complete boundary reductions and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software. -Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports -Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys. -Mentor and assist in training junior staff members.

What You Bring

-Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays. -LS License required. -Problem solving techniques. -6 years of experience minimum required, 7 preferred, in the Surveying Construction Industry. -Possesses oral and written communication skills. -Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices. -Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques. -Knowledge and ability to deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies. -This position is not eligible for sponsorship -Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects. -Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems. -Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software. -Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment. -Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier. -Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents. -Bachelor’s of Science (BS) or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required. -Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG.
