Key responsibilities include leading traffic engineering services for state and local clients, managing project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, administering quality management plans, supporting marketing initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers.
RS&H is seeking an experienced traffic engineer to join its Charlotte, NC team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse, complex traffic engineering work. This role offers a hybrid schedule of in‑office and remote work and positions the engineer as a technical expert who contributes to projects while cultivating client relationships.
The ideal candidate possesses expertise in capacity and microsimulation analysis, safety studies and crash predictive analysis, traffic volume development and forecasting, and conducting traffic studies.
Qualifications include an ABET‑accredited bachelor’s degree in civil, transportation, electrical engineering or a related field, a PE license, at least seven years of traffic engineering experience with technical leadership, and proficiency in HCS, Synchro, Sidra, TransModeler, and MicroStation. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders are essential, and PTOE certification is preferred.
