The Concrete Finisher JM is responsible for leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete, grout, and similar products on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, and sidewalks. This role requires interpreting plans and measuring tools, operating hand and power equipment, and ensuring finished concrete meets quality standards.
Core duties include reading blueprints and drawing coordinates, placing, vibrating, and finishing concrete in all applications, installing grout and anchor fixtures, inspecting work, monitoring temperature effects, and applying sealants, curing agents, or waterproofing compounds. The finisher also performs repairs, saw cutting, and mold positioning, and assists other trades as directed while maintaining safety and production schedules.
Candidates must have a minimum of four years of journeyman experience; master journeymen need the same experience plus an approved craft certification such as NCCER. Required knowledge includes MIC health and safety programs, OSHA regulations, and the ability to mentor junior workers. Employees must provide personal safety toe boots and approved hand tools, while the company supplies power tools and safety gear.
The position involves up to 12‑hour shifts, physical work in varying temperatures, and the ability to lift objects up to 50 lb repeatedly. Workers must navigate uneven, confined, or elevated areas and wear required personal protective equipment. Stamina and coordination are essential for performing tasks safely and efficiently.
Compensation is $31.00 per hour with performance‑based merit increases.
