The role focuses on actively engaging with clients to provide insight on industry best practices and to interpret NERC O&P Standards, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory adherence.
Key responsibilities include developing and supporting client compliance programs, authoring clear procedures and guidelines, conducting mock audits and gap analyses, and providing technical support for regulatory activities such as self‑reports, mitigations, and internal controls.
Required competencies involve creating actionable documentation, designing and delivering tailored training, managing project schedules and budgets, liaising with clients on high‑impact issues, and collaborating effectively within a team while mentoring new members.
- Engage with clients to advise on industry best practices and interpret NERC O&P Standards.
- Develop and maintain client NERC O&P compliance programs, including procedures and documentation.
- Conduct mock audits, gap analyses, and serve as SME interviewer and trainer.
- Create compliance roadmaps and RSAWs, and support NERC registration activities.
- Provide audit support and technical guidance on self‑reports, mitigations, and internal controls.
- Lead meetings and discussions on complex regulatory situations.
- Manage project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and quality deliverables.
- Design and deliver NERC O&P standards training tailored to client needs.
- Monitor standards development and contribute to the Standards Compliance Intelligence Portal.
- Represent the team as principal client contact and provide subject‑matter expertise.
- Train and mentor new team members; travel 15‑20% as required.

The position requires a subject‑matter expert with a minimum of six years of experience in NERC O&P Reliability Standards, strong audit and compliance background, and excellent written and verbal communication skills for detailed reports and presentations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF toolsets is essential, occasional travel of 15‑20% may be needed, and NERC certifications are considered a plus.
- Minimum six years of experience with NERC O&P reliability standards; ten to twelve years total experience or relevant degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce detailed reports and presentations.
- Proven client‑management, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Experience in the energy or utility sector, especially power generation or transmission.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF toolsets.
- NERC certifications are a plus.
