Lead the Energy Transition: Drive a Portfolio That Powers Australia’s Clean Future This is your opportunity to stand at the forefront of the energy transition, guiding capital investment, aligning project development to strategic objectives, and delivering infrastructure critical to achieving Australia’s net zero ambitions. We’re seeking a transformational Transmission Portfolio Office Director to oversee the governance, performance and optimisation of the Clean Energy Link (CEL) program - a portfolio of major transmission projects of state and national significance. You’ll lead a high-performing team of specialists spanning governance, financial performance, technical and commercial outcomes - collaborating across business functions to manage interdependencies and deliver sustainable, long-term success. -Act as a visible leader and ambassador for energy transition, building strong partnerships with government, industry, regulators, and communities. -Apply thought leadership and transformational skills to implement and mature portfolio frameworks, methodologies and governance structures, driving consistent, high-standard program management practices. -Act as primary advisor for portfolio-level risks, issues, and interdependencies, implementing mitigation and recovery strategies. -Provide portfolio assurance across all projects, including governance, risk, quality and benefits. -Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with ability to lead and influence program stakeholders and assigned project resources to build teams and achieve business outcomes. -Lead portfolio financial management, including budgets, forecasts, and reporting, ensuring effective stewardship of significant investments. -Manage a multibillion-dollar portfolio in line with approved funding, optimising resources, schedule, and commercial elements. -Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, policies, and safety standards, proactively managing regulatory, reputational, and commercial risks. -Provide executive level reporting on portfolio health, risks, benefit realisation and performance metrics delivering insights and recommendations to steering committees, senior leadership, and the board. -Lead, coach, and develop your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, agile delivery practices and high performance. -Oversee contracts and commercial arrangements with external partners.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Program Management, Finance, or related discipline. -Highly advanced negotiation, relationship and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation including C Suite. -Comprehensive experience in program and project leadership at an executive level, ideally across large-scale infrastructure or transmission i.e. 10+ years in senior programme/project management roles. -Significant experience in managing and optimising large scale complex programs of concurrent projects with multiple workstreams. -Strong knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs. -Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams, and external partners in a collaborative and performance-driven manner to ensure win-win outcomes. -Proven successful program delivery outcomes within tight timeframes, in a complex environment. -Strategic perspective, strong analytical and business acumen capability, ability to think conceptually, make decisions and apply business context when generating solutions.
