The Shift Leader role reports to the Engineering Services Manager and operates on a continental shift pattern, covering on‑site responsibilities from 7 am to midnight on weekdays and 7 am to 8 pm on weekends, with two daily shifts (7 am‑7 pm and 12 pm‑12 am) and on‑call duties from midnight to 7 am.
The primary purpose is to undertake all aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, small projects and Help Desk calls, while managing the building’s operational functions and assets during each shift. The role also includes issuing permits to work, performing LOTO isolations, completing HV training, and switching high‑voltage and low‑voltage supplies as required.
Key responsibilities involve escalating incidents, providing holiday and sickness cover, supervising staff, subcontractors and specialist providers, being proactive with preventative maintenance, adhering to JLL QA and HSE policies, maintaining clear records, producing incident reports, and interacting with both internal support staff and external client representatives.

Essential qualifications include City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or an equivalent, 17th Edition IEE registration, and experience in a critical maintenance environment with knowledge of BMS, UPS, emergency generation, and electrical/mechanical distribution systems. Desirable credentials are HV approval, a BTEC ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and prior supervisory experience.
