The role involves overseeing electrical design, inspections, and condition assessments for a wide range of public sector facilities. It includes leading design documentation, performing site surveys, ensuring integration with existing systems, supervising staff, and managing project performance.
- Manage electrical design, inspection, and condition assessment projects for public‑sector facilities nationwide.
- Lead preparation of design criteria, directive drawings, system calculations, technical analyses, contract drawings, and specifications for power distribution and related systems.
- Conduct site surveys of existing conditions and integrate new designs with existing electrical and control systems.
- Design low/medium voltage distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting, IT networks, access control, security, and fire alarm systems.
- Review electrical shop drawings, coordinate with contractors, and provide construction assistance.
- Supervise and mentor engineering and design staff.
- Monitor project performance, accruals, utilization and report regularly.
- Facilitate meetings with clients, agencies, utilities, and project teams to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
- Produce electrical floor plans, schematics, load calculations, short‑circuit, coordination, and arc‑flash studies.
- Ensure compliance with client, company quality‑control procedures and engineering guidelines.

Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s in electrical or related engineering and have over ten years of progressive experience. A PE license in Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC, or Virginia is preferred or attainable within a year. Expertise in NEC, NFPA, energy codes, facility surveys, design, specifications, construction support, and familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM, and power study tools is required.
- Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Architectural Engineering with an electrical focus.
- 10+ years progressive experience in electrical system engineering and design.
- PE licensure in PA, MD, DC, or VA preferred or obtainable within one year.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA codes, and energy codes.
- Experience with facility surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimating, and construction support.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM/Revit and SKM Power Tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
