As a Fire Sprinkler Install Apprentice you will learn the skills needed to install, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Working alongside Fire Sprinkler Installation Technicians, you will assist in the accurate and efficient installation of sprinkler systems, following blueprints and specifications while progressing through a structured apprenticeship training program.
You will learn to cut, thread and fit pipes with precision, acquire knowledge of system components, codes and safety procedures, conduct inspections and tests, and collaborate to troubleshoot and repair valves, pipes and fittings. Maintaining detailed records and adhering to strict safety protocols are essential parts of the role, as is staying current with industry advancements.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, exceptional attention to detail, and solid verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in fire‑sprinkler installation are also needed.
Physical demands include walking on construction sites, occasional ladder use, lifting 10‑40 lb frequently (up to 75 lb occasionally), frequent bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level, as well as wearing required PPE such as steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses and harnesses.
