In this role you serve as the strategic voice for a high‑profile commercial and retail property portfolio, guiding internal staff and external managers rather than handling day‑to‑day operations. Your focus will be on retail tenancies at train stations, commercial spaces and other revenue‑generating leases, constantly looking for long‑term potential, opportunities and ways to add value.
You will influence performance through briefings, strategic direction and oversight, spotting opportunities, challenging the status quo and moving meaningful enhancements forward. Working within a small, tight‑knit team inside a larger organisation, you’ll collaborate with seasoned property professionals across asset classes and share knowledge to deliver the best outcomes for the portfolio and the community.
The ideal candidate brings deep commercial savvy and experience across retail and commercial assets, ideally from the owner’s side or a large consultancy supporting major landlords. You are comfortable advising on leasing strategies, valuations, procurement, contract structures, maintenance and commercial risk, and you can translate occupancy, utilisation and financial data into actionable insights. A property or real‑estate qualification or equivalent professional experience, strong relationship‑building skills and an owner‑mindset are essential.
You want to play a part in making NSW a better place to work, live and travel. You're a forward thinker who sees potential where others don’t, and you’ll have the chance to shape urban spaces, contribute to sustainable development and create vibrant, livable communities for future generations.
Transport for NSW delivers a safe, integrated and efficient transport system and values a diverse workforce. The role offers flexible and hybrid working options, a supportive inclusive culture and a range of employee benefits. Applications close on 1 February 2026; for further information contact [email protected].
