Building Cleaner

Description

• Clean and maintain all common areas, including stairwells, hallways, entrances, parkades, elevators, and restrooms
• Empty garbage and cigarette receptacles and remove debris throughout the property
• Vacuum carpeted areas and sweep floors as needed
• Wash and sanitize hard floors and high‑traffic surfaces
• Clean and polish glass at entrances and doors
• Polish and maintain interior and exterior elevator surfaces, including tracks
• Sanitize exercise equipment and fitness areas
• Perform wall washing as required
• Maintain exterior entrances, walkways, paths, and parking areas, removing debris as needed
• Report maintenance issues to the Supervisor, Resident Manager, or Caretaker
• Assist with apartment cleaning for move‑ins and move‑outs as needed

Requirements

We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented building cleaner for our Ottawa property to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the site. The role includes cleaning common areas, restrooms, elevators, and exterior spaces, as well as assisting with move‑ins and move‑outs. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

• Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or property cleaning preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards
• Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to report maintenance or safety concerns
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
