What you would be doing

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the field teams, ensuring they work safely and to the highest quality standards.
  • Liaise with internal engineers, external stakeholders and landowners.
  • Conduct detailed on‑site surveys of potential installation points, capturing topography, access routes, flood‑risk, utility interfaces and any environmental constraints.
  • Translate survey recommendations into practical work‑plans and monitor progress against the project schedule.
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical or logistical issues in the field, devising quick, practical solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Identify and flag health, safety or regulatory impediments early, feeding this information back to design and permitting teams.
  • Conduct regular post‑installation audits to verify that stations meet technical specifications, safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce clear survey reports including recommendation for each candidate site, including risk‑assessment documentation.
  • Direct and coordinate Installation and Maintenance Teams of Section 82 monitoring equipment.

  • Are you familiar with health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to river‑bank work?
  • Can you demonstrate success supervising field‑based installation or maintenance crews, driving teams to meet schedule, safety and quality targets?
  • Do you hold a valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently to remote field locations?
  • Do you have strong practical knowledge to assess installation feasibility, cable routing, conduit placement and equipment grounding?
  • Are you resilient, organised and able to prioritise multiple sites and tasks while maintaining a high standard of workmanship?
  • Skilled communicator who can give concise, on‑the‑spot direction, provide constructive feedback and produce clear status reports for management.
  • Ability to translate survey recommendations into clear work‑packages, allocate labour, tools and materials, and monitor execution.
