Junior Engineer (Singapore)

Preparation of design/drawings and calculations

• Conduct requisite checks on the quality of construction through checks such as material quality, construction specifications in line with design and workmanship specifications, etc.
• Draft design/drawings and make design calculations in consultation with supervisor and/or external design consultants
• Monitor progress of the construction with respect to timelines
• Provide support required (such as expertise on design aspects) either directly or in coordination with external design consultants
• Escalate any non-compliance or delays to supervisor and the concerned Site Agent in a timely manner
• Submit drawings and calculations with supervisor for subsequent internal/external approvals and finalisation
• Coordinate with onsite safety representatives to oversee adherence to LAIO safety management system, regulatory requirements as well as contractual obligations
• Liaise with the construction team and/or sub-contractors on adherence to the drawings/design for the permanent works
• Record drawings/designs, delivery status, timesheets, etc. basis existing guidelines
• Liaise with the temporary works coordinator for the design of temporary works (such as ELS, timber falsework for concrete construction and steel formwork)

• Prior work experience in Construction industry preferred.
• Understand design requests from supervisor or directly from client (i.e. construction site) representatives
• Local Graduates withDegree/Specialist Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 1-2 years of relevant working experience
