- Assimilate and manage data, provide creative graphical representations of complex information
- with project team members in problem solving and solutions
- Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance
- Perform assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods, and coordinate with other team members and technical staff
- Write, review, and edit work products
- Take responsibility for assisting with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation
- Conduct quality reviews for content, accuracy and completeness, meeting client and corporate standards
- Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, natural resources, land use, etc.
- Support and manage projects which involve permitting, wetland and stream mitigation design, planning, documentation, etc.
- Work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientist and water resource engineers
- Research and interpret scientific literature, regulatory programs, guidance, and applications
- Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transportation and development projects
- Assist with project schedules, have responsibility for tracking leading and delivering products and projects
- Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data
- Work with geographic positioning tools and information systems
- Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
- Work on environmental planning, environmental assessments/impact analysis and associated permitting and compliance monitoring for transportation and other infrastructure projects that require conformance with state environmental reviews & National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Interact with clients and agencies
- Coordinate with specialty sub consultants or consultant team members
- Prepare constraints mapping

- MS Office experience
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
- 1+ years transportation or development-related technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents which should include experience in wetlands/natural resources, permitting, planning, NEPA, MEPA, CEPA, SEQRA, Section 7, research and assessment of regulations, GIS applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Wetland certifications preferred. CWS, PWS, WPIT etc.
- Candidates who reside locally in the New England area and have New England experience are preferred
- Masters 's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
- Excellent writing and communication skills
